Buyer Qualifications and Credentialing


JIS is a trade event and is for qualified jewelry industry professionals ONLY.

Safeguarding the security and exclusivity of our events is paramount. To uphold these standards, we kindly request our attendees to provide qualification documents, allowing us to authenticate their status as jewelry industry professionals.

Important things to note:

  • Every event edition requires a fresh registration.
  • No children allowed under 14 years of age. With show management special approval, babies in carriers are permitted. Strollers are prohibited on the show floor for safety and security reasons.
  • Upon request, the spouse or non-marital legal partner of a primary contact are welcome to attend JIS. If the individuals have the same last name or address, only an ID is required for verification. In other cases, acceptable documentation will be required.
  • For security purposes, a government-issued ID is mandatory to pick up your badge and you may only print the badge associated with your photo ID. Identification may not be expired. Photocopies and phone images will not be accepted.


Qualification Documents Required

Companies and individuals must show proof of relation to the jewelry industry and employment with the company they are registering with. Depending on your professional badge category, further documents are needed to verify. Requirements are below.

For companies to be approved, you must provide one of the following:

  • Valid Business License, OR
  • Sellers Permit, OR
  • A Sales Tax Certificate 
  • For international companies, documents must be in English or have accompanying English translation.

To prove your employment with the company, individuals must provide one of the following  

  • W-2, or
  • Processed Payroll Stub, or
  • Your full name listed as the owner or partner in official documents (Store Lease, Articles of Incorporation, LLC, Partnership, Annual list of Officers, etc.)
  • For Sole Proprietorship, a 2024 Schedule C will be accepted, when available, and must include the registrant’s full name and Principal Business and Professional Activity Code. Financial information should be redacted.
  • For attorneys or agents: valid bar card, agency license, or professional certification showing current status.

Business cards are NOT accepted.
Company letter of employment is NOT accepted.

You may redact / black out any information you don’t want to share except for your name and your company.  But please know, all information will be kept confidential and secure.



Additional Required Documents Per Category

Either item “A” or “B” below:

A.     Invoices: Copies of itemized invoices from two different suppliers of finished jewelry or jewelry related products within the past year for a total of $10,000.
B.     JBT Number: Must be listed with the JBT in good standing as a retailer or wholesaler of finished jewelry.

Two itemized invoices from within the past twelve months that have a combined total of at least $10,000 from two different suppliers.

Two itemized invoices from within the past twelve months that have a combined total of at least $50,000 from two different suppliers.

One of the below:

A.     Official verification of enrollment from your school (jewelry/gemstone learning institution).
B.     Official school transcript (jewelry/gemstone learning institution).
C.    Receipt for classes within the past 6 months (jewelry/gemstone/learning institution).

If you are not listed with the JBT or do not have invoices demonstrating wholesale jewelry purchases, please provide one of the following: photos of your store’s jewelry section, a purchase receipt for equipment such as a safe, or a purchase receipt for jewelry showcases.

Professionals within the jewelry industry such as accountants, agencies, appraisers, attorneys, bankers, financial and insurance companies are welcome to attend and should select the Service Professional attendee badge in registration. Company and Employment documents noted above are required.



Reminders:

  • All documents must be in English or have accompanying English translation.
  • All documents must have matching company name and address and they must also match the company name and address you used for your JIS Registration.

Falsifying credentials or attempting to register individuals who are not in the trade or affiliated with the registering company can result in the company and related registrants being permanently banned for all RX jewelry shows including JIS, JCK, and LUXURY.
